The Cut

Fades, tapers, line-ups.

The bulk of what happens in this chair. A fade is the standard $35 haircut — there is no premium for one, and no separate booking.

Low taper fade with a wavy top and a beard lined into the cheek
01 — What you can ask for

Every fade, one price.

A skin fade taken down to the bare skin, a taper that keeps weight at the neck and sideburns, low, mid and high — the difference is only where the shortest point sits. Bald fade, drop fade, burst fade around the ear. Ask by name or bring a photo; both work.

Scissor work on top, textured crops, and a line-up to finish. The line-up is the part people notice from across a room — the edge along the forehead and temples, cut straight and sharp.

All of it is the standard Haircut at $35. If you want the beard shaped in the same sitting, that is Haircut & Beard at $45 — the same cut with the beard added, not a different service.

02 — Between cuts

When you don't need the length off.

If your last fade still has its shape and only the edges have gone soft, book the Shape Up at $15 instead. It is the hairline and edges only — no length removed. It buys a week or two and costs less than half a full cut.

Add the beard to that and it is Shape Up with Beard, $20.

03 — How it runs

Booked, not queued.

Appointment only, no walk-ins. You book a time and the chair is held for it. The reviews say the same thing over and over — fast, and right. Both, not one or the other.

Doors open at 6:00am, seven days a week, which is unusual on this island. If you want to be cut before work rather than after it, that is what the early slots exist for.

04 — The difference

Before, after.

BeforeClient before the cut, hair grown out over the ears and down the neck
AfterThe same client after a skin fade, hairline and neckline cut in clean

Grown out over the ears, taken to a skin fade with the hairline cut in. Standard Haircut, $35.

BeforeClient before the cut, hair and beard both grown out and unshaped
AfterThe same client after a skin fade with the beard shaped and lined into the cut

Hair and beard both left too long, brought back to a skin fade with the beard lined into it. Haircut & Beard, $45.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is a skin fade more expensive than a regular haircut?

No. A skin fade, taper fade, low, mid, high or burst fade are all the standard Haircut at $35. There is no surcharge for a fade and no separate booking — it is the same service.

What is the difference between a fade and a taper?

A taper keeps some weight through the neckline and sideburns and blends gradually. A fade takes the sides shorter and can go all the way to skin. Both are cut as the standard $35 haircut.

Should I book a haircut or a shape up?

If your last cut still holds its shape and only the edges look soft, book the Shape Up at $15 — hairline and edges only, no length removed. If you want length taken off, book the Haircut at $35.

Can I bring a picture of the fade I want?

Yes. Bring a photo or describe it by name. Skin fade, drop fade, burst fade, low taper — all of it is understood, and the cut is agreed before the clippers start.
